We get asked a lot of questions by vets and pet owners alike, so we’ve put together a list of the most asked questions which we hope you will find useful.

How do we become a Nutravet stockist?

You can register to become a stockist or distributor of our products here. Or you can contact the head office who will be in touch.

Do we have to stock all Nutravet products?

You don’t have to stock the whole range of Nutravet products, however as a Nutravet stockist you should be prepared to order products in for customers who request them.

What does it mean to be a Nutravet stockist?

As a nutravet stockist, you should sell all Nutravet products over the counter without a prescription and without the pet needing to be registered at your practice.

Do you offer CPD training?

At Nutravet we are committed to supporting our authorised veterinary practices with dedicated training conducted by our team of Registered Veterinary Nurses. As a brand advocate we want to make sure you have the best possible understanding and training so you can recommend Nutravet products with total confidence. 

How do we book a lunch & learn or training

To book a rep meeting, contact your local Nutravet rep or contact the head office to organise someone to visit your veterinary practice on a date and time that suits you.

How do stockists benefit from lunch & learn/training?

During the lunch & learn training sessions you can learn about any new products or get more information about Nutravet products that you stock. We can work around a day and time that suits you and either do one to one or group training. Through the training you will also gain a CPD certificate.

Do all Nutravet products contain natural ingredients?

Yes, all of our products only contain the highest quality, natural ingredients. Our ingredients are both ethically and sustainably sourced with the purity levels stated on the packaging, so you know exactly what you are giving your animals.

Are your products easy to administer?

Yes, we use sprinkle capsules not tablets, which are easy to administer to pets. They can opened up and the contents sprinkled into or onto the animal’s food. Nutramega and Nutramind are gel capsules that can also be pierced and squeezed into or onto pet’s food to help with easy administration. Nutrabio is a tasty paste developed to be palatable for pets.

Can Nutravet products be given together?

Yes Nutravet products are natural and have been developed for specific situations. If an animal needs more than one Nutravet product then there are no concerns taking them alongside each other.

If a pet is on medication, can Nutravet products be used at the same time?

Yes Nutravet products are natural and have been developed for specific situations and there are often benefits of a multimodal approach to animal health and nutrition.

How do we order Nutravet products?

Our secure online system makes ordering, paying and reordering our products quick and simple.

Once you have submitted your details to become a registered user of this site you will be able to log in and see our full product range, their associated prices and take advantage of the many benefits of using our system:

  • Prices are displayed straight away after logging in and discounts are added automatically to your shopping cart so you don’t need to wait for any rebates or promises from sales reps like some other companies. You can even add to basket then come back at a later date to complete your order.
  • Reordering couldn’t be simpler, as our system stores your previous orders so you can see what you have previously ordered, as well as any quantities, which also helps when it comes to keeping on top of your accounting administration.
  • Making payment is easy too as you can pay with all major credit / debit cards by Cheque or BACS.
  • Privacy is not an issue as we don’t divulge any of your details to any third party and you will have complete control over your password which you can change along with your contact details at any point.

Do you have a minimum order amount?

As a trade customer, we do have a minimum order value of 6 unit, which can be a combination of any product. Orders are taken in multiples of 6 units, for example 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 etc.

Can I amend an order?

All orders get dispatched the same day or next day, so it is often difficult to amend an order once it has been processed. However if you contact the head office via 0845 6041688 the team will try to help if possible. 

When will I receive my order?

For UK orders, we guarantee next day delivery for all orders placed before 4pm Monday to Thursday. Orders placed on Friday or over the weekend will be dispatched on the next working day. Orders to Ireland and throughout the world vary depending on their destination but we look to provide as fast and efficient service as possible.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer FREE delivery on orders of 12 or more units. Multi-buy discounts are also available on order of 18-24 units (10%), 30-42 units (15%) and 48+ units (20%).

What is the token scheme?

The UK loyalty scheme was an offer that allowed pet owners who purchased six qualifying products to receive a free box by collecting the tokens on the side of boxes.

Our token scheme is no longer active on our new packaging however, customers who have saved tokens on older boxes will still be able to send in their tokens to claim a free box as long as they meet the criteria to do so.

How can pet owners claim a free box?

Customers who still have the tokens from the our older boxes can continue to claim their free box. The free box will be honoured in the usual manner where six matching tokens need to be collected alongside valid receipts to claim their matching free product of the same size. Are all products valid on the token scheme?

No, our loyalty scheme was available to UK customers who purchased products that included a token on the packaging

How long does each administration of Nutracalm last?

On average, Nutracalm capsules last around 18 hours, however this can be dependent on the individual circumstances, situation and the severity of their anxiety.

How soon can pet owners see the benefits of Nutracalm?

On average, Nutracalm capsules work within 1-2 hours. Whilst the benefits of Nutracalm are fast acting it is beneficial to start administering Nutracalm the day before the desired effect is required.

Is it safe to give Nutracalm long-term?

Many pet owners use Nutracalm for one-off stressful events, such as vet visits, travel, kennel stays or fireworks night. However, as they are a natural product with no sedative effect there is no reason why they can’t be used long-term alongside behaviour training to help reduce stress and unwanted or unruly behaviour.

Can Nutracalm be given to puppies and kittens?

Yes, they are fine to be given to young pets.

How many Nutracalm capsules do animals need to take?

Administration of Nutracalm is dependant on the pet’s weight. Administration tables for Nutracalm can be found here.

How do you administer Nutracalm?

Nutracalm comes in the form of sprinkle capsules, which can be opened and the contents mixed into or sprinkled over the pet’s food.

Are there any known side effects of Nutracalm?

No, Nutracalm aids anxiety, resulting in a more relaxed version of a normal pet. There are no known side effects from using Nutracalm.

Can Nutracalm be used for rabbits and other small furries?

Yes, whilst the product packaging highlights its use for dogs, cats and horses we have many happy customers using Nutracalm for rabbits, guinea pigs and other small furry animals as the product administration is based on an animal’s weight.

How soon will I see the results of Nutraflex?

Nutraflex is fast acting, most joint supplements take 6 weeks before they start to work – however on average the benefits of Nutraflex are seen within 4-7 days due to it’s unique high purity formula, please see the administration levels for your pet.

What’s the difference between Nutraflex, Nutraquin+ and Nutraquin?

Nutraflex is a veterinary strength joint support product that works quickly and includes highly bioavailable Turmeric that works synergistically with Boswellia.

Nutraquin+ provides fast acting extra support and aids the natural systems that control inflammation and is more beneficial for pet’s with existing stiffness and joint related situations.

Nutraquin is a joint support product used as a preventative to support joint structure and mobility in puppies and animals where stiffness doesn’t exist yet and thus you may want to maintain healthy mobility for the future.

How many Nutraflex capsules will be needed?

Administration of Nutraflex is dependant on a pet’s weight. You can find administration information here.

Can Nutraflex be given to puppies and kittens?

Yes but if you are looking to maintaining healthy joints from an early age as a preventative measure then our standard Nutraquin product may be more cost effective solution for your pet.

How do you administer Nutraflex?

Are there any known side effects to Nutraflex?

How long does it take for Nutrabio to work?

This will depend on the severity of the situation Nutrabio is used on but generally between 1-2 days.

Can Nutrabio be used long-term?

Yes, Nutrabio is ok to be used long-term although for frequent long-term gut health we would recommend Nutraflora.

How do you administer Nutrabio?

To administer Nutrabio remove cap and gently push down plunger to extract paste. Add to feed, or directly into the animal’s mouth. Each notch administers 2ml of Nutrabio. Watch our ‘How to administer Nutrabio’ video here.

Is Nutrabio for both dogs and cats?

Yes, Nutrabio is formulated to help support both cats and dogs.

How long does Nutrabio last?

Nutrabio has a shelf life of two years.

How many Nutraflora capsules will be needed?

Administration of Nutraflora is dependant on a pet’s weight. You can find administration information here.

How long does Nutraflora take to work?

This is dependant on what Nutraflora is being used for, Nutraflora can be used for both short-term post operative use or long-term gut issues.

Is Nutraflora safe to use long-term?

Yes, Nutraflora has been developed to aid long-term gut health.

How do you administer Nutraflora?

Nutraflora is supplied in sprinkle capsules not tablets, which are easy to administer to pets. They can be opened up and the contents sprinkled into or onto the animal’s food or given whole.

How soon will I see the results of Nutafibre?

On average the benefits of Nutrafibre are seen within 2 weeks.

Can Nutrafibre be given to puppies and kittens?

Yes, Nutrafibre is fine to be given to younger animals. Some pets have more sensitive digestion than others, so monitor progress with your vet and adjust daily serving as required.

How do you administer Nutrafibre?

Nutrafibre is supplied in pellets, which are easy to administer to pets. They can can be sprinkled onto or mixed into your pet’s usual food and the required quantity spread over their number of daily meals.

Are there any known side effects to Nutrafibre?

No, although some pets have more sensitive digestion than others, so monitor progress with your vet and adjust daily serving as required.

How many Nutracoat capsules will a pet need?

Administration of Nutracoat is dependant on a pet’s weight. You can find administration information here.

How do you administer Nutracoat?

Nutracoat is supplied in gel capsules not tablets, which are easy to administer to pets. If an animal does not like taking full capsules, then they can be pierced and squeezed into or onto the food to help with easy administration.

How long does it take to see the benefits of Nutracoat?

Although many pet owners will see the benefits earlier we would expect a noticeable benefit to be seen after 6 weeks.

Is Nutracoat safe to use long-term?

Yes, Nutracoat have been developed for safe long-term use.

Are there any known side-effects to Nutracoat?

No, Nutracoat contains fish oils, there is no fish protein in the product so it is ideal for many allergy cases. Nutracoat’s refined Omega-3’s are ethically sourced from ocean sardines.

How many Nutramed capsules will my pet need?

How long does it take for Nutramed to work?

Nutramed contains our own Boswellia Extract containing Boswellic acids which generally start to show benefits within 7 days.

When should a pet start using Nutraplaque?

You can start using Nutraplaque at any age as part of your pet’s daily oral health routine to reduce plaque and tartar build up.

How long does it take for Nutraplaque to work?

The benefits of Nutraplaque are usually seen within 3-8 weeks of continued use but will be dependent on the pet’s unique situation. The effects can be seen for as long as the product is being taken, with the results providing visibly whiter, cleaner teeth and fresher breath.

How do you administer Nutraplaque?

Nutraplaque is supplied in sprinkle capsules, not tablets, which are easy to administer to pets. They can be opened up and the contents sprinkled into or onto the animal’s food or given whole.

Can it be used if the ear drum is perforated?

We wouldn’t recommend that any product is used if the ear drum is perforated without clear instruction from a vet. Nutraotic is a gentle formulation, and so use could be considered if recommended by the veterinary professional. 

Can Nutraotic be used to eradicate ear mites?

Nutraotic has not been developed to specifically eradicate ear mites, but consistent use will contribute to the prevention of ear mites.

Can Nutraotic be used to break down and soften ear wax?

Yes, the salicylic acid and glycerine help to break down and remove the wax from the ear canal.

Can Nutraotic be used routinely and for ears undergoing treatment?

Yes, it is beneficial to be used as part of a routine ear cleaning programme and whilst an animal is undergoing treatment for otitis.

In severe cases could Nutraotic ear cleaner be decanted from the bottle into a syringe?

Yes, the twist top can be unscrewed enabling the product to be drawn up by a syringe.

Could you use Nutraotic ear cleaning wipes to apply the Nutraotic ear cleaner?

Yes, you could use the Nutraotic wipes, or alternatively apply directly into the ear or using a cotton pad.

What form of EDTA is used?

Nutraotic ear cleaner contains Tetrasodium EDTA which is a fully neutralised form of EDTA; EDTA helps to enhance antimicrobial activity by disrupting the biofilm protective layers that shield bacteria and fungi from antimicrobial agents. EDTA also helps to bind metal ions such as calcium and magnesium which bacteria use to stabilise their cell walls, therefore weakening the bacteria making it more susceptible to treatment.

Can Nutraotic ear cleaner be used as an anti-septic?

Yes, the inclusion of denatured alcohol has effective anti-septic properties.

Can this be helpful in cases of Pseudomonas infection?

Yes, Nutraotic ear cleaner contains ingredients with anti-septic ingredients and EDTA which helps to breakdown the biofilm of the bacteria, and so can help with the effectiveness of antibiotics as part of a complete treatment plan.

Can this be used on both dogs and cats?

Yes, it is safe to use on dogs, cats and puppies and kittens.

Can it be used alongside other Nutraotic products?

Yes, the products within the Nutraotic range have been developed so that they can be used simultaneously together

What material are Nutraotic ear cleaning wipes made out of?

The Nutraotic ear cleaning wipes are made from 70% Viscose, typically made from natural ingredients such as wood pulp. Viscose is a highly absorbent material whilst also being very soft and gentle to the touch. Polyester makes up the remaining 30% of the wipes which provides durability and strength, reducing the risk of tears.

Are the Nutraotic ear cleaning wipes recyclable?

Nutraotic ear cleaning wipes aren’t curb-side recyclable as they combine two materials to achieve a wipe which is both absorbent, soft and durable.

How big are the ear wipes?

Nutraotic ear cleaning wipes are 6.5cm circular wipes, an optimal size for cleaning ears.

Can you use one wipe to clean both ears?

No, we would always recommend using a new wipe per ear to avoid the transmission of any harmful bacteria or debris between ears.

Why does it contain Chloroxylenol?

The inclusion of chloroxylenol in ear wipes offers significant benefits by providing antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal protection, preventing odours, and supporting overall ear hygiene. Its effectiveness and safety make it a valuable ingredient for maintaining ear health, particularly in pets.

What form of EDTA is used?

Nutraotic ear cleaning wipes contain Disodium EDTA which is a partially neutralised form of EDTA; EDTA helps to enhance antimicrobial activity by disrupting the biofilm protective layers that shield bacteria and fungi from antimicrobial agents. EDTA also helps to bind metal ions such as calcium and magnesium which bacteria use to stabilise their cell walls, therefore weakening the bacteria making it more susceptible to treatment.

Can Nutraotic ear cleaning wipes be used as an anti-septic?
